Roger Brownlee's Fort Worth-based garage-rock band was ahead of its time for the '60s. The Elite played sped-up, unhinged, pounding dance floor destroyers like "My Confusion" and the two-part "One Potato Two Potato" that sounded like prototypes for the punk rock that would come a decade later.
