Church Point, Louisiana native Rudy Richard moved to Baton Rouge as a blues-infatuated 17 year old who studied the licks of Lonesome Sundown and Leroy Washington. Richard quickly became the lead guitarist in Slim Harpo's King Bees, and is featured on all of Slim's records, including "Scratch My Back" and "Rainin' In My Heart." Blues as it is meant to sound, but so often never does.
