Homesick James
Listen to Homesick James on Farmer's Blues, Homesick, Set a Date, Crossroads

Best known for slashing his guitar with the rawest of abandon, Chicago slide master Homesick James got his start in the 1920s playing along side men like Charley Patton, Son House, Robert Johnson and Blind Boy Fuller. His recording career commenced in the late ‘30s and after spending the ‘40s in Memphis, he moved to Chicago early in the next decade where he joined Elmore James’ Broom Dusters in 1955. Obviously one of the very last living links to the birth of the blues, Homesick possesses a guitar and vocal style capable of scaring the shit out of the pathetically slick “blues” (if you could even call ‘em that!) artists of late.
